It’s an “underwater mystery” he thought, the father would have to navigate through the floating furniture, to avoid any injury. He spent a few hours talking to the television about his plan, Nixon looked right at him, over the radio and blamed it on the man. The Light Millennium Television | LMTV conducted an exclusive on-camera studio interview with Dnyaneshwar Yewatkar, the bicyclist and social activist from India based on his tour called, “World Friendship Bicycle March”.

Dnyaneshwar (Dnyan, in short) has started his huge and noble journey to spread out the message and vision of Mahatma Gandhi to the world out of India in November 2016. Along with Gandhi’s message the core message of all great personalities like – nonviolence, truth, clean & peaceful society.

Haberi okur okumaz hemen aramıştım oteli…
Maalesef o sabah ayrılmıştın Sri Lanka’ya dönmek üzere
Çok üzülmüştüm ama yapacak bir şey de yoktu o an…

It is hard to come to grips with the loss of our dear friend Çiğdem.

I knew her for a long time, going back decades.

I tried to recall one of her qualities that left the greatest impression on me and it was difficult.

She had many good traits.
Her intellect was extraordinary.

Çiğdem’i 90’lı yıllarda sık sık katıldığım Konsolos’luk resepsiyonlarında tanıdım. Her zaman şık, her zaman güler yüzlü, her zaman kendine güvenli hali, ansızın patlayan ve salonun en uzak köşesinden duyulan kahkahasıyla kendini belli ederdi.

Bir süre sonra Light Millennium‘un kuruluş yıl dönümündeki kutlamalara birlikte katıldık ve bu kurumun yönetim kurulunda birlikte çalıştık.

This year marks the 130th anniversary of the birth of a towering figure of the 20th Century and the Creator of Modern Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. A great military hero at the Battle of Dardanelles in 1915 against the Allied Forces, the commander-in-chief at Kocatepe in 1922 war against the invading Greek Army , the President of the Republic of Turkey in Ankara in 1923, a world leader honoured at his death in İstanbul in 1938. Library Week in Turkey, 28 March – 3 April 2011 – Part I

For the past 47 years, the last week in March has been celebrated as Library Week in Turkey (1) with the goal of developing the love of reading and emphasizing the importance of books to students and the awareness of libraries for the general public.

Very few advertisements on the Library Week appeared in the news media, or anywhere except in only a few places. One of the newspapers reported that the Library Week celebration took place at the Antique Library in Ephesus. The posters for the Library Week includes the photograph of the Library in Ephesus, built in 970 AD.

Birds Without Wings, by Louis de Bernieres

This book tells about what happened to the Greeks of Anatolia at the end of First World War. For many years the Greek version of events misled the people, never accepting that it was a blunder on their part and caused untold death and destruction in Anatolia and resettlement of 1,500,000 Anatolian refuges. Louis de Berniere, a British soldier whose grandparent fought in the Dardanelle battles, tells about this event,truthfully, including the life of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, from his birth to 1923 when the Republic of Turkey was established.

I visited Kayaköy several times, which is a wonderful place, as you have described in your book. The stories on the last days of the Otoman Empire, the population exchange and the life of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk are very moving. As you have told HDN- SW, Birds Without Wings is the Turkish ”War and Peace.” Thank you for being a friend of Turkey.
