I am, Dr. Aysegul Durakoglu, honored to be a part of the Light Millennium’s Program on the Peace, Women, Security and Secularism to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the United Nations Security Council Resolution. As an educator in higher education and an active musician, I would like to focus on education to empowering women to conquer their struggles in finding opportunity for an equal education; and, to touch upon the issues of gender equality in the music industry.

Towards the 19th Anniversary of the United Nations Security Council Resolution
S/RES/1325 (2000) & In support of the SDG#5, SDG#16 and SDG#17
INTRODUCTION:
This event aims to support and create awareness on the United Nations Security Council Resolution #1325 (2000) in correlation with the concept of “Secularism”, which is the missing key component of the #1325 framework. It also aims to introduce the SDGS#5, 16 and 17 to the general public in conjunction with the #1325 towards the attainment of the 2030 Development Agenda.
