1979 was declared the Year of Children by the UNICEF. A song competition was organised, and 94 songs were entered from 47 countries. The song from Turkey “HAND DOWN A WORLD TO US, ALL CHILDREN” was the winning entry.

1979 UNICEF tarafından Çocuk Yılı olarak ilan edilmişti. Bir şarkı yarışması düzenlenmişti, ve 47 ülkeden 94 sarkı ile katılım olmuştu. Turkiye’nin katıldığı şarkı ‘BİR DÜNYA BIRAKIN BİZ ÇOCUKLARA’ yarışmayı kazanmıştı.
