KAZAKSHTAN’S PEACEKEEPERS ARRIVE IN LEBANON
One hundred and twenty peacekeepers of the joint peacekeeping company of Kazakhstan’s Peacekeeping Regiment arrived in the Lebanese Republic to participate in the mission of the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL), serving as part of INDKAZBATT. It is for the first time in the history of Central Asia that a peacekeeping contingent from the region is participating in a UN peacekeeping operation.
The necessary pre-deployment training, specific to this mission, was carried out for the personnel of the Kazakh contingent, both in India and Kazakhstan, the latter by an Indian mobile training team.

GLOBAL COALITION FOR A WORLD FREE OF TERRORISM ESTABLISHED FOLLOWING THE PROPOSAL OF THE LEADERSHIP OF KAZAKHSTAN
The document was launched and presented to Member States for accession by H.E. Kairat Abdrakhmanov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, at a High Level Special Event on the margins of the General Debate of the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly. It was consequently signed by foreign ministers and other authorized persons from about 70 countries. The Code of Conduct received wide ranging support because it recognized the inter-linkages between security, counterterrorism and development.

On behalf of the United Nations Security Council, below statement on UNAMID announced by the UNSC President, Ambassador Kairat Umarov at the media stakeout.
Council Members welcomed the joint AU-UN (African Union – United Nations) assessment report on phase one of the reconfiguration of UNAMID (United Nations–African Union Mission in Darfur) and the absence of negative consequences to date. Council Members commended the good cooperation between the Government of Sudan the United Nations and the African Union in regards to the implementation of phase one of the reconfiguration.

AGREEMENTS TO FINANCE THE PROJECT OF EXTENSION OF THE “BURNOYE” SOLAR POWER STATION TO 100 MW IN ZHAMBYL REGION SIGNED AT THE MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE
News from Astana, EXPO Congress Center, Kazakhstan, June 11, 2017.
The goal of the project is to provide Kazakhstan with safe, reliable and environmentally friendly electricity through the use of solar energy. The project will expand the existing “Burnoye” solar power plant from 50 MW to 100 MW and increase the generation of “clean” electricity to 146 million kWh per year. To be put into operation in the second quarter of 2018, the “Burnoye” solar power plant will become one of the largest renewable energy sources in the CIS.”
